We had three sets of complicated household surveys to process and analyse. Bill’s team processed them in record time and allowed us to meet an important deadline for a lottery fund application – we were successful thanks in part, to Bill’s analysis and report. We would use Bill again. – Micheal Mowen, Oak Healthy Living Centre, Roslea, Fermanagh
“We needed an honest broker to oversee the planning project for our eConsultation service. Bill filled the role perfectly; assertive when we needed more direction yet flexible when we needed things changed. Community groups would benefit greatly from his services. I would also highlight that Bill has remained in contact with us after the project ended – forwarding information relevant to the project which highlights his genuine ongoing commitment to the community and voluntary sector. ” Kevin Higgins, Temporary Deputy Director, adviceni.net
“It had been a while since any of us was in a classroom. I wasn’t really looking forward to it. What a pleasant surprise….. Bill has a great informal approach which quickly put us all at ease. We all got a lot out of the two days.” Gary Neill, Start a Business Programme participant October 2008.
Bill assisted us in reviewing our challenging marketplace and positioning the company to our advantage. Thanks to Bill we now have clear business development goals and strategies to achieve them. Robert Cummings, Partner. http://www.gillespieandcummings.co.uk/
We design and create top quality stained glass window inserts and mounted pieces – a specialist market. As a start-up business we needed efficient and effective sales advice. Bill is helping us agree on our business goals and develop low and no-cost marketing activities aimed at the home and export markets. Bill is also a useful sounding board and mentor during these challenging times in the construction trade in Ireland. Derek Deane, www.firstglassireland.com
We already had most of the desk research and business plan narrative for our new social enterprise for women in non traditional trades WOMEN'STEC. Bill collated all of the information into a format which suited our funding application to Social Economy Belfast. He also produced three year financial projections and commentaries. Bill worked to a tight schedule and delivered the project on time. Anne Mc Vicker, Chief Executive, WOMEN'STEC. www.womenstec.com
Bill came to us as a trainer and ended up a mentor. We initially booked Bill to deliver training on “Generating ideas for new income streams”. Bill’s inclusive training style put us at ease and we created list upon list of ideas, some of which we have since put into action. We then used Bill to mentor one of our managers in a new capital project. Clearer project timetables and action plans were developed as a result. Elaine Mansfield, Forum Development Manager, Donegall Pass Community Forum. http://www.donegallpass.org
"We needed a business plan to form a new community interest company (CIC) / social enterprise for our local community transport company in south Belfast. Our small team of managers was swamped with work so we wanted someone to manage the project for us. We also needed to ensure we knew how to do it ourselves in any future funding submissions. WorkWest Enterprise Agency allocated Bill MacNeill as our adviser. Bill quickly grasped our community group's values and goals. Within the space of two afternoon sessions we had a working business plan and clear business goals. We had tight deadlines which Bill met with apparent ease despite many adjustments on our part. We now know how to repeat the process in the future as the plan rolls forward. With the project completed, Bill has continued to support our team with advice on our web-site. All the separate parts of our community organisation now share a common corporate identity, thanks to Bill's direction and his web-design partners." Bill Newman, Manager Belfast South Community Transport, Sandy Row Community Forum.
"I recently took a four-day course on setting up a company at the Ormeau Business Park in Belfast. Bill MacNeill taught the course's first half, focusing on marketing and company strategy. Not only were his lectures informative and detailed, but also extremely witty and enjoyable. Moreover, Bill's interactive style was perfect for drawing out each student's ideas and providing feedback. I came away convinced that Bill is both a wise and effective consultant, one who could help any company establish or rejuvenate its business. In these economically stressful times, Bill's skills and counsel are likely to prove invaluable." Steven Greenberg, President. www.silicon-speech.com
"Bill has worked with us as an associate trainer and mentor since 2001. He is a good 'all-round' business trainer and one of the few people who is accredited to deliver both the marketing and finance elements of the Start a Business Programme. He also deliver one-off training for arts and craft businesses. Bill trained the local chinese community (using a simultaneous interpreter) in business idea generation techniques. Initially there were only 6 participants but word of his effective training spread quickly in their close knit community and by the end of the week Bill had nearly 20 participants.
Bill consistently scores well in training evaluations from participants. His business plans are comprehensive and easy to navigate with clear conclusions and recommendations. Bill works as a valued associate to our management team." Patricia McNeill, Manager, Ormeau Business Park, Belfast. http://www.ormeaubusinesspark.com/
"We needed a mentor who would show us how to develop marketing strategies ourselves and not just do it for us. Bill delivered! As a social enterprise we have to spend carefully. With the clearer communications goals we now have, Bill helped us grow and sustain a vital community service and improve our marketing skills as well. Internal communications have improved too".
